L3 Waterproof LTE Beaco

L3 Beacon is IP67 waterproof, can be used in outdoor environments. It is powered by 8500mAh Li-SOCI2 battery and is designed for long term use up to 5 years (Battery life depends on the usage envronment, upload period(configurable). The battery life 5 years is based on uploading data to cloud every hour).

L3 Beacon is suitable for use cases like smart agriculture, cold chain logistics, asset tracking etc.

L3 Beacon is a waterproof LTE Beacon with ultra low power chipset. It also supports BLE5.0 technology. L3 Beacon has the following functions:

  • Can send data directly to the cloud over LTE (cellular)
  • Can position itself outdoors via GPS
  • Can work as a Bluetooth Beacon (sending BLE advertisement)
  • Can connect other Bluetooth Beacons and upload Beacons data to cloud

L3 LTE Beacon reserves an I2C interface for extensions, It can connect various external
sensors, including:

  • Temperature humidity sensor
  • Air quality (CO2, VOC, PM2.5) sensor
  • Light sensor
  • Wind speed and direction sensor
  • Rain and snow sensor
  • And more other sensors

L3 Basic specification

L3 Function:

  1. L3 can report temperature and humidity at regular intervals, the periodicity of which can be configured.
  2. Supports HTTP or HTTPs mode for data reporting
  3. L3 supports periodic reporting of events by Beacons or emergency reporting of events, with two configurable reporting intervals.

How L3 Works?

L3 LTE Beacon supports one of the two new cellular standards: LTE-M(eMTC), or NB-IoT. The L3 Beacon need to have a SIM card installed, there must be a mobile carrier in your area so L3 Beacon can upload the data to cloud. GSMA has a helpful map of countries with LTE-M/NB-IoT coverage, but local providers keep adding LTE-M and NB-IoT support continuously. Please contact KKM sales represetative for the map if you need it.

When L3 Beacon works as a gateway and connect other Bluetooth Beacons, it can connect up to 8 Beacon devices at the same time and upload the Beacons data to the cloud.
